We’ve been meaning for some time to create a tribute to beloved poodles who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge. Today we fulfilled that promise by creating a new “In Memoriam” page.
If you have lost a poodle, indeed any pet, we extend our sincere condolences. We know how you feel.
The pet cemetery in our yard is where our beloved pets Rose (a Labrador retriever), Taffy (our cat), and Yevonna (our toy poodle) are buried under the watchful eye of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. Our black lab Skipper, arguably the best dog ever to honor the planet with his good nature, is buried at Angel View Pet Cemetery in Middleboro, Massachusetts.
Our friend Laurie in Massachusetts shared this photo of the beautiful pet cemetery in her yard.
Whether you prefer to bury your beloved pet in your yard, in an official pet cemetery, or to keep your pet’s ashes in an urn in your home, rest assured you are not alone in your grief. We dog-people understand what you are feeling. Next to watching a parent die, the most difficult thing we have ever done is sign that paper at the vet’s approving euthanasia. Yes, it was the right thing to do--a final act of love--but it is agonizing just the same.
There are many people online who want to help you as you grieve the loss of your pet. We’ve listed a couple of pet bereavement resources on the In Memoriam page and will add more quality resources as we find them.
Until next time,
Cynthia E. Field
